Cardboard cutters are frequently used in retail and home life because they can cut many products besides cardboard. But cardboard box cutters should be used with caution because carelessness can result in an injury.

Control

Cut at an angle away from the body and use cut-resistant gloves. Resist the urge to control the cutter with only your thumb, as this can easily lead to your thumb slipping and getting cut.
Sharpness

Always use a cutter with a sharp blade. Dull blades force you to exert extra effort which can lead to injury. If cutting a cardboard box, the extra force used on a dull blade can also damage the products inside the box.
Storage

Covering the blade and storing the cutter in an appropriate container when not in use will help keep will prevent accidental cuts. Use a sheath holster when carrying a cardboard cutter in the pockets of your trousers to prevent any accidental cutting or tearing of skin or clothes.
